Dr. Raghupati Singhania, 78 years, is an industrialist with close to 58 years’ experience in managing various industries including Automotive Tyres and Tubes, Power Transmission, Automotive Belts, Oil Seals, Industrial Electronics, Steel Products, and others.

Dr. Singhania has been on the Board of the Company since 29th May 1967 and as Managing Director of the Company since 1975. Under his sage leadership, the Company, which began with a manufacturing capacity of 5 Lakhs tyres in 1977, has grown into one of the Top 25 tyre companies in the world with a manufacturing capacity of 380 Lakhs tyres per annum (including 110 Lakhs tyres/annum capacity of Cavendish Industries Ltd.) and 11 plants (9 in India and 2 in Mexico).

Dr. Singhania is the past Chairman of Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association and in the past he was President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also in the National Council of CII, besides his association with other important Business Councils, etc. Dr. Singhania is also associated with a number of institutes involved in medical research and education, besides serving a number of trade and industry bodies such as CII, ASSOCHAM and CAPEXIL in various capacities.

Dr. Singhania was inducted into the ‘TIA Hall of Fame 2015’ on 2nd November, 2015, which is the highest honour any individual in the Tyre Industry can achieve in the world. The Tyre Industry Association (TIA), USA, has acknowledged his distinguished and exemplary service towards growth and development of the Tyre Industry. He is the third Asian to receive this coveted award in the last three decades.

In the special issue of Business Today (1st January, 2017), Dr. Singhania has also been listed amongst India’s best CEOs. He has also received the Industry Leadership Award from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

During FY 2018-19, H.E. the President of Mexico conferred on him the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, the highest distinction awarded by the Mexican government to foreigners. Dr. Singhania was recognised as ‘The Extraordinaire’ for his leadership and contribution to the Industry by Brand Vision Summit 2018. He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 from the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) and the Lifetime Achievement Award at Manufacturing Today India Conference & Awards 2019. Dr. Raghupati Singhania has also been conferred with The Economic Times – Inspiring CEOs 2022 Award. Dr. Singhania has also been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and another award – ‘SEVA Bhushan’ by SEVA Bharti. Dr. Raghupati Singhania has also been inducted into “Hall of Fame” by Manufacturing today. Dr. Raghupati Singhania was also presented with the “Best Tyre Manufacturer Award” at Indo American Chamber of Commerce – NIC 7th Business Leadership Awards. Dr. Singhania has been also recognised as “Business Leader of the Decade” by Indo American Chamber of Commerce in the year 2022.

It covered his vision of making it big, the journey of successes & failures, the challenges and how he overcame those challenges and how he transformed Tyre Industry and much more.

He was also conferred the Doctorate of Science by Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur for his outstanding contribution to education, training and research in the fields of elastomer, polymers and tyres.

With his foresight and vision, JK Tyre became the only Indian tyre Company to indigenously manufacture Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) by offering TREEL Sensors. This product line is in synergy with JK Tyre’s ethos of ‘green’ technology as it reduces carbon footprint through lower emissions, higher fuel efficiency and superior tyre life. The use of ‘Smart Tyres’ also goes a long way in enhancing road safety. Also, JK Tyre became the only Indian tyre Company to have rolled out 20 millionth Truck Bus Radial tyres. It took 17 years to cross the 10 million milestone in 2016 and just 4 years since then to double the number.

Under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Singhania, JK Tyre has been selected amongst India’s fastest growing companies by “Business World” in April 2017 and as the prestigious brands of India 2023 by Process Evaluators and Research BARC Asia and Jury Panel. Further, JK Tyre has been certified as “Great Place to Work” by Great Place to Work Institute, which is a mark of trust pride and camaraderie.

Dr. Singhania is Chairman/Director on the Board of various group companies and Foundations in the fields of medical and education.
